Upright Rows

The Benefits – Upright rows develop the trapezius muscles creates a good separation between deltoids and trapezius muscles. This is a strict movement to your delts, so keep up a good control to get most of this exercise!

Execution - Grasp a barbell with an overhand grip slightly narrower than a shoulder width. Lift the bar straight up keeping your body straight and keep the bar close to your body, until the bar just about touches your chin. Contract the traps at this point of movement and lower the weight back to the starting position.

Tips – A narrow grips will develop more on the trapezius muscles while wider grip will mainly focus on the front deltoids. This exercise should be doing strictly without swinging the weight up. Feel the traps and delts doing the work without getting help from legs or back. To make this movement even harder, slow down everytime you lower the weight. But if you like, you can do this movement also as a power movement allowing yourself the little cheat by
using other muscles.
