The Benefits - Twisting ab crunches work effectively your obliques (muscles on your side). You can perform twisting ab crunches almost anywhere on a quilted surface.
Execution - Lie flat on your back with your feet flat on the floor and your knees slightly bent. Put your fingers on the sides of your head and start crunching upward like in a basic ab crunches, but by pointing your left elbow to your right knee. Then repeat the same process in the opposite knee with the right elbow.
Tips - Stay in the crunch position for a second or two to maintain a hard contraction of the abs. To add more resistance you can add a 5 pound weight plate behind your head.
