Triceps Pressdowns
The Benefits - Tricep cable pressdowns develop the all three heads of triceps. This is one of my favourite triceps exercise to isolate all the three heads through a full range of motion and of course with heavy weights. This is a strict and deep movement to your triceps when doing properly!
Execution - Grsap the bar with an overhand grip from overhead pulley and stand directly in front of the weight stack. Keep your hands close together and your elbows locked in close to your body and stationary. Press the bar down as far as possible, until you triceps are fully contracted and arms locked. Then slowly return the bar to the starting postition without moving your elbows. Keep your body stationary during the movement and feel only the triceps do the work.
Tips - Varying the triceps cable movements will create a seperation to your tricep heads. To maximize the triceps contraction, push the bar towards the floor by bringing your shoulders slightly down. But don’t move your elbows forward. Tricep pushdows with an underhand grip is a bit stricter movement and it stress more your outer head of the triceps.
