Overhead Cable Curls
The Benefits - Overhead cable curls develop the biceps, especially the long head. This is a good exercise to stretch the biceps and create a seperation to bring up the double biceps. This is a real bodybuilding exercises dyed-in-the-wool!
Execution - Take a hold of two overhead cable pulleys from both sides with an underhand grip and stand between them on a straddled position to keep the balance. Hold your arms straight, your hands at about the same height as your head, palms facing down. Curl your hands toward your shoulders and twist your wrists so that your palms are facing to your head. Hold for a second and contract your biceps hard. Bring the weight back to the starting position and keep your elbows steady through out the movement.
Tips - It’s easy to let your elbows go forward and your forearms come into play, so don’t use too heavy weights. Don’t just let the weight go back, but resist the weight all the way to the starting position. This is a specialised bodybuilding workout and I like to finish my bicep workout doing overhead cable curls.
