Leg Curls
The Benefits - Leg curls is an effective exercise to target and isolate the hamstrings, the rear of thigh muscle. TheĀ lying leg curl exercise is the most common exercise to develop hamstrings, because it allows you to fully isolate your leg biceps without stressing other muscles.
Execution - Lie face down on a leg curls machine. Hook your hills under the footpad. You leg should be stretched out straight so that your knees rest at the end of the berth. Keeping flat on the bench, curl your legs up as far as possible to fully contract the hamstrings. Hold on for a second and then slowly lower the weights back to the starting position. Hold on the handles or the bench itself to keep yourself from lifting up off the bench.
Tips - Using a standing curls machine, you can train one leg at a time and further isolate the leg biceps. I like to use an leg extension machine. If there’s no leg curl machine available, you do leg curls in the crossover cables, which I found to be a more efficient way to work my leg biceps. It is easy to cheat by doing this exercise only half way up, so follow a full range of motion instead of swinging the weight up.
