Front Squats
The Benefits - This is an advantage variation of the squat exercise which recruits more the quad muscle and abdominals to a much higher degree for stability due to the more upright position. This is my favourite exercise to build the sweep of the quadriceps and it allows me to go naturally at the bottom of the squat position.
Execution - Bring your arms up and under the bar as shown on the video. Cross your arms and grasp the bar with your arms. Keep the bar positioned on your front shoulders and your elbows pointed ap and front. Lift the weight off the rack and step back. Bend your knees and lower yourself as low as possible. Keep your body upright. Now push yourself back to the starting position.
Tips - Do not lean forward! You may otherwise lose the control and the bar could slip down to your chest. To help to do front squats in under full control, perform it in front of the mirror if possible. Each one who wants to build a serious mass in front thigs, should learn the front squats!
