Dumbbell Pullovers

The Benefits - Dumbbell pullovers with arms straight develop the pec muscles and expand the rip cage. This is an great exercise for overall definition of chest muscles as well as to develop the serratus anterior muscles.

Execution - Lie on the bench with your back slightly arced. Keep your feet on the floor to contribute your position. Grasp the dumbbell with both hands and hold it straight over your chest. Keep your arms straight and lower the weight slowly down in a wide arc behind your head until your rip cage are fully streched. Bring the weight back up to the starting postition tfollowing the same arc.

Tips – Don’t let your hips come back as you lift the weight. Keep them low throughout the movement to ensure the maximum possible stretch of the rip cage. I can get the greater strech when I lie on a bench crosswise so that only my shoulders are in touch with the bench. I have done this exercise at the beginning in my chest & back workout as a strecthing exercise.
