Exercise tips to build big shoulders
To build mass to your shoulders, you need to perform lot’s of heavy compound movements to your delts that usually consist of various pressing movements overhead, like behind the neck presses or front barbell presses. For the best resutls, I recommend to use barbell presses and dumbbell presses alternately in every workout.
A fully developed shoulders brings you a nice V shape that makes you look huge at your upper body. Heavy presses mainly involves the front head of the delts, but will also stress side and read delts as well as triceps. But width and the development of the side head of the deltoid is only one aspect of the total development of the shoulder muscles.
How to isolate your delts
To make them looking round and detailed, you have to train all three heads from different angles, the anterior (front) head, the medial (side head), and the posterior (rear head). The thickness and development of all three heads play an important role in bodybuilding and shoulders will be emphasized in every pose you hit.
I recommend to train shoulders mainly by using basic exercises like shoulder presses to make them completely stimulate to growth. Train your shoulders at different directions to target each head of the deltoid specifically. Isolation exercises like laterals to different directions will completely isolate the various heads of shoulders. Also alternate the exercises using cables and dumbbells, working one arm at a time.
